Masseria Pigna

Trulli restoring project

Masseria Pigna is a trulli restoring project. The complex is mostly constituted by trulli and it is located on a hill, in a pristine, natural environment, in the countryside of Cisternino. This type of trullo is defined as “out-of-water”. In fact, there is a continuity between the basement and the cover walls, which creates a system to collect the rainwater and conduct it towards the ground. During the intervention, special attention has been paid to the recovery of these aspects that are distinctive of this type of trulli, which represent an historic form of bioclimatic architecture.
